what I do

I DO SO MANY THINGS!!

Let's skip the living, breathing, plotting to take over the world part... I know!

We'll start with poems! Tiny snippets of emotion, wit, insight, even wisdom. Windows into other people's souls. I've been doing a vast poem-experiment since March 21, 2015. I've been trying to write a poem a day. In February 2016, I set up a Patreon page. My goal: to publish my first book of poems, dealing with grief, love, and renewal, by the end of the year. Some of the poems that are part of that book are hidden around this website -- if you like them, you can get a copy of the book for as little as $5. In the meantime, I have a free newsletter, Intravenous Poems, that - you guessed it! - delivers poems directly to your bloodstream. It's easy to sign up, and I think you'll like what you read more than you would have guessed. If you want to see more of my poetry, support me via Patreon, or share my newsletter around to everyone you know -- especially the ones who could use a little comfort. Many of my poems are about processing the grief around my mom's death. Some are surprisingly uplifting. You can also read some of my poems on this very site.

Hmmmmm, what else? So many elses. No wonder I have a whole website about this stuff!

I'm in the middle of a Life Experiment to see if I can go a year without buying any physical Stuff. So far, it's wonderful.

There's my alternatives blog, where I examine alternatives to some of the choices we don't realize we make every day.

And the HyggeLit podcast -- listen to me read some of my favorite stories aloud. If you haven't heard of hygge, check it out!

Home Harmonizers: I'm a professional organizer. I work with clients around the country to create harmonious living spaces.

I'm a freelance editor of books, short stories, and poems. I work primarily with Michelle Belanger, my amazing partner and muse. I'm  available for hire on a limited basis. Check out my Upwork profile

I have been known to rant about some things. Most are terrible things, hiding in plain sight, corrupting the way we think with their insidious non-logic! Terrible things -- the word "deserve" and the misused concept of "sustainability" are just scratching the surface!

Speaking of which -- if you live near Chicago, I highly recommend Lifeworks Psychotherapy. They're poly- and kink-friendly, and they run excellent monthly support groups. Some of the best group discussions I've ever been part of happened thanks to their facilitation. I cannot speak of them highly enough.

Sustainability is a passion, a core part of my identity, and a keystone of all my work.

More on all of this is coming soon. Keep your ear to the ether.
